Purpose:
We are a non-profit 501c3 recreation/prevention-based program that strives to provide Greater Fall River residents and disadvantaged youths educational and developmental programs.
Mission Statement:
“Greater Fall River RE-CREATION is a non-profit recreation / prevention-based program that recognizes that a safe and nurturing environment is necessary for all residents of the Greater Fall River area to explore their talents and build self-esteem. RE-CREATION works in conjunction with neighborhood associations, community service and health agencies, as well as public and parochial school systems to further expand opportunities for all residents.”
Facilities:
Our current facility on 72 Bank Street is a 114 year old armory building made of stone with a slate roof constructed in 1900. The facility contains a gymnasium, office spaces, and 8 bathrooms located on 0.84 acres of land with 36,590 square feet.
Our new facility, to be opened on Hartwell Street in the near future, would include a rock-climbing wall, a gymnasium, multi-purpose rooms, a covered entry for drop-offs/pick-ups, and 60-80 on-site parking spaces.
Staff:
We currently have 6 full-time employees, 25 part-time employees, 10 Youth Outreach workers, 3 senior aids, 9 sports/fitness instructors, 1 computer center coordinator, and 50 summer lunch program staff members.
